Progress Report!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Ashley Hawthorne @ 4:09 pm

We’ve been making progress!  I have been too busy to post but wanted to give a quick update for you faithful followers 🙂  The paneling in the main living/dining/kitchen is painted!!! The trim is white, and the ceilings are halfway painted.  I cannot even describe how much better it looks after we painted the paneling.  If any of you are contemplating taking the leap and doing this….. DO IT!!!   This weekend we started the dreaded task of painting the ceilings white.  i thought they were just a tad dingy, but once we started painting them white, the difference was UNBELIEVABLE!!!  Here is a before of the kitchen/main living area, and an after that shows the walls and cabinets painted, and the beginnings of a white ceiling and trim.  You can see that the wood paneling is still there behind the stove.  that will be white subway tiles.  fun times!  at the end is a pic of the new drapes and fantastic floor pillow(s) i snagged from world market this weekend!

  2. you hooch 😉 I totally saw those curtains this weekend at World Market! I instantly wanted to repaint my master bedroom or change my bedding to make it work! Those are fantastic!!!

BTW, I saw this large painting at Christian Street that reminded me of the painting you are having “comissioned.” I took a pic of it, I need to email it to you!

Did you measure the stove yet or did ya’ll have someone come look at it? Looks like the same size as mine!

  3. i think its the first time i’ve ever been called a hooch. haha. the curtains are too short ( want them to be a full 8′ so that the rod can be mounded right next to the ceiling. i’m going to add a bold color band at the top or bottom. maybe yellow??

  5. haha! They were the perfect length for our windows (we need 96″) but I didn’t think the tan color would go well with our solid white bedding! I’m still on the lookout though… I may just have to buy some material and make my dream curtains 🙂

  6. Laura Lancaster has those!!! They’re so great.

WOW — you’ve done such a great job. I love how those cabinets went from dated, dated, dated to sleek and modern with just a coat of paint.
